South Africa Part 3 of 4: KZN

After our visit to Swaziland it was time to head south east to the coast of KwaZula-Natal to stay a few days with our friends traveling with us who live in Richard's Bay.  He works for a global mining company and Richard's Bay has been their home for the last two years.  I really wanted to get a peek into their lives and enjoy some down time together in their home.  We didn't do anything spectacular, but that's what made it great.  Spending time chatting over laundry, making meals and even grocery shopping was a real treat.

Pool time!

Thanks to my super thoughtful friend, the Easter bunny left 5 surprises.  Great to celebrate Easter in South Africa!

Our other friend, Kerryn, who hails from KZN but also now lives in the UK near us, was down in South Africa for a wedding and joined us for the weekend.  So fun to all be together again!

We were lucky to be there in time to celebrate Ally's 40th!  Luke planned a lovely dinner party while we were there for friends near and far.  Great to celebrate such a great friend!

On our last day in KZN we went down to Durban.  It was a real treat to visit Durban with Kerryn.

Love these people!  This was a bitter sweet scene (Ally took the photo), as not long after Kerryn and Ally dropped us at the Durban airport for our flight to Cape Town.  A tearful goodbye with Ally and the girls.  Miss them so much.

And onward to Cape Town!
