The Great British Summer

If last winter was one of the worst on record, this summer might be one of the best.  I should hold off judgement until it's fully passed, but the weather this June and most of July has been nothing short of amazing!  Endless days of warmth and sun.  Of course we missed a great deal of it whilst we were in California (just our luck), but there has been enough left of it for us to enjoy.  Couple that with a relatively unscheduled calendar and the complete lack of homework stress and it's been a downright glorious couple of weeks at home enjoying a wonderfully British summer.  We've taken the last two Saturday's to explore more around southern England with its majestic castles, stunning countryside and warm sandy beaches.

 Bodiam Castle in East Sussex

The most charming little tea house in Rye on the East Sussex Coast.  Great find with delicious food.

 Rye, East Sussex

Evening frolic in the waters of Camber Sands Beach, East Sussex

Cowdray Castle in Midhurst, West Sussex

Stunning Arundel and its truly magnificent castle.  Such a charming town with beautiful surroundings.

 West Wittering Beach, West Sussex

Fun with friends in our back garden on a hot, sunny day

I'm kind of completely in love with this child, and wish to have him as my own!

Local exploring in our favourite city

 Hyde Park

Paddle boating!

A visit to Buckingham Palace, still amazes me that we live here after all this time

My garden bursting with colour under all this summer sun, and an evening rainbow.  I love summer!
