After a couple of weeks in northern California we headed south for 10 days in our other Californian home in Orange County. We only lived there for three years (longer than anywhere else we have lived our whole 15 plus years of marriage), but the place still feels like home to us. We still have our house there, but more than that it's the people. The friends we made during our three years there turned out to be lifelong friends, so many wonderful people. Staying again with our dear friends, Paul and Kari, we spent 10 days catching up with great friends in the sun.

Playing at Paul and Kari's house, probably the highlight for the kids. Endless fun at their house with their kids and all their fun toys. At the end of our stay we were all pretty ready to just move right in. We love their family and they couldn't have been better hosts, yet again.
A couples night out having some of the best Chinese food I've ever eaten, and some fun playing games at my dear friend Kami's house. Fun night!

Bonfire night in Laguna Beach hosted by my wonderful friends Denise and Kelly. Great night of s'mores, playing in the ocean and chatting by the fire.
Not 5 mintues after we arrived and Madeleine's clothes fell victim to the waves. Never fear the dynamic Denise, Emily and Megan trio came to the rescue. Love these girls for turning a disaster into such a fun beachside wardrobe change! And into an England Union Jack shirt no less :)

After nearly missing each other with us in California while they were in the UK, we managed to sneak an afternoon with a still jetlagged Cati and Pete, and more time with Clint and Kelly. Great final afternoon in OC!
Last night in OC hanging out with Paul and Kari at movie night. We really miss these guys, wishing we lived across the street!
Coming home from this trip left me feeling very grateful. We have such wonderful family and friends in the great state of California. It will always be my home. I am so glad we had the chance to spend time with people dear to our hearts in places that will always feel like home.

Ok, I have to have copies of the pictures of the girls...they are killing me! :). As always your mad photo skills make every place you ever go look magical. I'd love to know your fave processing tricks. You are amazing! We're booking a family shoot with you when we see you next! Kami was smarter than the rest of us! :). Miss you guys! We are looking at booking flights for mid-late may next year...put us on your calendar...it's for real this time...already have the ok from the babysitter. :)
