I'm trying in earnest to catch up on blogging. With so many visitors and photo shoots lately, I'm a bit behind and the blog posts are a bit out of order. But here goes with our day out to tour the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studios up northwest of London. With two of our favourite Harry Potter geeksters on hand, Denise and Megan, we had a great day oohing and aahing our way through all the original sets, costumes and props used in filming all the Harry Potter films. It was amazing to be face-to-face with everything from the Knight Bus to the serpent's door to Dumbledore's office to Diagon Alley. And so, so much more. What struck me as we wandered through was the sheer amount of detail and work that is involved in producing films like these. We learned so much about the film-making process, and I was astonished at how much detail is involved and at how much prep work is involved. Just amazing. It actually left me feeling like £10 is a steal for a movie ticket!
If you're a true Harry Potter fan, then this should all be familiar to you. How many photos can you identify from the movies?
The white cardboard models of all the set designs were amazing in and of themselves, and to think they were only used to prepare the sets! So much work to make these films!
This full model of Hogwarts was actually used for many of the exterior shots in the films
