Australia Part 2 of 4: Sydney

After three years since they moved, we were finally reunited with our dear friends, the Scandurras.  Gill picked us up from the airport and we had a fun first day getting caught up visiting at their house and then an afternoon at the beach for Boxing Day.

The kids are a lot bigger now, but they all totally picked up right where they left off!

On our second day in Sydney after staying the night at the Scandurras they took us to the Blue Mountains.  It's a special place for their family and it was such a treat to explore it with them!  The famous Three Sisters of the Blue Mountains.

The day after we moved into our holiday rental, a house in Sydney, for the next 5 nights of our stay in Sydney.  The first full day in Sydney proper did not disappoint!  We headed straight for the harbour to see the Opera House and Harbour Bridge first.

Seeing the Sydney Opera House for the first time was incredible!  Tears flowed and I was overcome with its beauty, and just finally actually being there!  We took a guided tour, which was excellent, to learn more and visit the inside of the concert halls.  Incredible!

An amazing lunch in the shadows of both the Opera House and the Bridge.  Unforgettable!

Dinner cruise with the Scandurras to see the Harbour in all its glory at dusk.  The views as the sunset were out of this world!

The next morning we did the Bridge Climb up the Harbour Bridge with the Scandurras.  Major bucket list item, such a thrill!

Fun evening catching up with the Reas!

Harbour ferry to Manly for the day comes with bonus views of the Harbour, this time by day.

Super fun afternoon in the strong sun on Manly Beach

On our last day we did the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee, and it was amazing!

What better finale is there to any Sydney trip than spending New Year's Eve on Sydney Harbour?  An evening of games and picnicking fun on the shores of the Harbour with the Scandurras capped off by the grandest firework finale of them all!
