This school year was a big one in our family, marking the end of middle school for Madeleine and lower school for Trevon. We celebrated Madeleine's 8th grade graduation with her at her graduation ceremony. As student body president she gave a wonderful speech. We're so proud of all of her achievements! High school, here she comes!
Trevon also moved up in a much less official ceremony moving from 4th to 5th grades. The party started with the annual 4th grade swim gala, which was lots of fun followed by a simple moving up ceremony. We're so proud of Trevon and the great things he accomplished in lower school. Middle school, watch out!
The end of each school year comes with many goodbyes in this international school community. It doesn't get any easier losing people you've grown to love. And some years are worse than ever. This year was one of the worst, losing a couple dear friends, including Kristin and Phil and their family. It's a huge loss to our family, and it will be sad carrying on at the school without them. Even though they'll be just up the road, their absence in our daily lives and school community will be greatly felt.
