Paris

Sabrina said it best "Paris is always a good idea."  I've been more times than I can count, but each time I go I get more stuck in.  I was able to go this summer with the kids and then later Scott and some friends joined us.  We had 8 days total in the city of lights, 5 of those were spent alone with the kids until Scott and our friends arrived.  It was so incredible for me to spend this kind of time alone with my kids in my favourite city (well other than London of course).  We rented a flat in the Marais and enjoyed 5 leisurely days wandering Paris, enjoying many favourite corners and discovering some new ones.  I also gave the kids one kids' choice day, and they chose to go to Disneyland Paris, which is how we kicked off our stay.  On day 6 we were joined by Scott who flew in from meetings in Budapest and then also by friends arriving from Arizona.  What a glorious time we had!

Day 6 and we finally got to meet up with Adam Stewart and his awesome family who were just fresh (or not so fresh!) off a flight form Arizona via New York.  It was a first time Paris visit for most of them, so keen to see as much as they could we hit the ground running with them as soon as they arrived.  It was so much fun seeing Paris through their eyes, exciting to watch their eyes light up as they saw la Tour Eiffel for the first time.  It was an exhausting 3 days stomping around Paris, but we had a great time.  I've known Adam was great pretty much my whole life, and I think his wife and kids are just as awesome.  Big fans of the Stewarts!

After we left Paris we continued on with the Stewarts to eastern France.  We took a train from Paris to Nancy to spend a few days there.  The Stewards invited us to join them at the opera that Aimee's sister was starring in.  We couldn't turn down the chance to have this experience, and to meet some of Aimee's family.   What a magical time we had with them . . . all on the next post!
