Hard to believe we are now in our fifth year in the UK. This place truly feels like home. I don't notice all the differences so much anymore. Driving on the other side of the road doesn't feel like the other side of the road. I am weather obsessed just like all my neighbours. I forget my American accent, not remembering I don't sound like them. In fact I don't actually hear the accents anymore, it all sounds the same to me now. On paper I am still an immigrant, but in my heart I am home. I like this feeling. I am still me, but I am me here. I am at home with my family here.

You forgot to mention guest room with all the purposes of your "extra" room. Maybe if you stay another 5 years I'll make it back to that guest room:)
I love this post and wish that I had taken more photos of the places that we have lived. I have a lot of Tokyo but not so many of California, Houston or London.
I love this! I'm so glad London is home for you. I can identify with so much of what you said (weather obsessed, for sure! :)
Shannon, what a lovely home you have.. As well as a good eye for photos... I would have loved your life 30 years ago...there are many places I would have loved to have seen... Maybe next time? Your friend Susan
Your collection of travel books looks a lot like our collection of travel books. I feel so vindicated!
Thank you for taking me on a tour of your lovely home. How beautiful. I look forward to seeing it in person sooner than later. I also loved seeing books from book club on your shelf. Home is where your family and books reside.
