Every year we've lived here, I've tried in earnest to get tickets to Wimbledon. And every year my attempt has failed. To get tickets you have to submit an application to get your name put in a lottery. Chances are not good, obviously! But every year I try. Someday it'll happen, but until then I had a chance to take a tour of Wimbledon. It was really interesting, and I learned so much about the tournament itself, the history and a myriad of fun facts.
The official timepiece of Wimbledon, classy.
One of the most fascinating elements of Wimbledon is the grass. It is the most amazing grass I've ever seen. The care of the grass is truly a science, or is it an art form? It's both! The measures taken to ensure the grass isn't made impure by other grass species or critters alone is something else! Not to mention all the mowing, to heights that are so precise that the lawns are constantly being mowed. The grass is truly what makes Wimbledon unique, and it's clear that here grass rules!

SO cool - and even better to get the backstage tour! I'm sure attending an event here would be neat, but now you know all the workings . . even better!
