Just when the stars traded places with the sunlit sky, everyone was up to catch a glimpse of sunrise over the Sahara dunes.
It was interesting to see in the morning where everyone ended up during the night. Caleb didn't seem at all phased that Trevon had basically abandoned his own mat to join him over on his!
Sunrise over camp
Nocturnal animal tracks fresh at first light
Some in our group tried to climb the big sand dune where our camp was based. It was a tough climb!
Coming back down was a lot more fun!
Caleb, Hannah and Dallin were the summit victors!
It was hilarious watching them tumble down, check out Hannah literally biting the dust!
Kerplunk!
The temperature started rising steadily with the sun, so it was time to set off before it got too hot!
We returned to the guest house on the permitter of the desert dunes to take much-needed showers before we rejoined our minibus driver and guide to begin the two-day drive back west. We drove through the beautiful Dadas Gorge. It was incredible how the temperature dropped when we got to this water oasis.
After a day on the road we reached our overnight spot. Tomorrow we would make the final drive into Marrakech, but this night we would stay in a beautiful, and remote kasbah. "Rock the Casbah!"

Amazing shots Shannon! I love the picture of the camel shadows on the sand. The see of sand is incredible. It sounds like you guys had a wonderful family vacation! Thanks for telling us all about it.
I'm still lovin' it! I think I'm going to have to put that trip on my bucket list.
Looking forward to the upcoming Olympic games post...
