Not intended as a farewell visit, my weekend trip to Paris with two good friends ended up being the perfect adieu to my "other city." It will be the last time I visit her for a while as we are regrettably moving back to the States in August. It's been dreamy being a mere two-hour train ride away from The City of Lights. My first trip to Paris was for a study abroad program thirteen years ago. I have returned five times since outnumbering any other repeat visit to any other European city. I remember the very first time I laid eyes on la Tour Eiffel. It was a surreal moment. I saw her from across the river, at night. Still in a daze of jet-lag and sensory overload from my very first waft of foreign soil, I looked up and there she was. Glittering and beautiful. More beautiful than I dreamed. I screamed aloud! To this day the Eiffel Tour still evokes the same sense of jubilation when I see her. I may not scream aloud, but she is as beautiful as she was the first time I saw her.

I've always loved your pictures of Paris.. & The Eiffel Tower.
oh no, I haven't come to visit yet!
but...does this mean you will be back in our ward?
Le Magnifique! Gorgeous pics. Looks like the UK sun spread to Paris that weekend too. Ah, Europe.
Chouette! Your Paris pics make me nostalgic. Who knew back on Study Abroad that you'd return to Paris again and again and again? Oh, you did? Good planning.
I'm trying to picture your blog header with photos of Half Moon Bay, the GG Bridge, and Lake Tahoe. Hmmm... way more driving involved. Do you have living arrangements squared away in PA or nearby?
P.S. I LOVE your navy shirt. A London find?
J'aime Paris aussie! I have so loved your blog - It's definitely a two-edged sword- moving again-
but, since I'm in the Mom's union- I'll have to just be glad because you'll be closer to one set of parents! And.. since I'm now moving to Utah, I for one will be happy to see pics on your blog of Calif. Good luck to you & thanks for a very memorable trip of Europe thru your eyes! It was wonderful!

I remember skipping down the streets of Paris, as a missionary, singing, "I love Paris" Isn't it lovely?
