We had one last summer hurrah up in Edinburgh the weekend before school started. While we were surprised at how cold Scotland was in August, we found the warmth of the Scottish people and the charm of the Scottish culture more than made up for it.
A priceless moment on the Royal Mile

I just love these old roof lines

Outside the Writers Museum showcasing Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Louis Stevenson. This museum is a little gem along the Royal Mile.
At the end of the Royal we came upon this lovely hillside, which Dallin was so excited to hike

Wow! Scotland has always been on my dream destination list and after seeing your gorgeous photos it's moved up a few more notches. What a great end of summer hurrah!
Scotland has long held my fascination and the sound of the pipe bands in particular. Thanks for sharing!
Love the expression on Dallin's face looking at the man's kilt. Love bagpipes. Love old rooftops. Love the Ashtons. Wish we were there!
That has been my favorite place to visit when we go to the UK. I love that you captured the big puffy clouds and the mossy hillsides.
Loved seeing the pics--it took me right back! In my mind, I'm already planning another trip!
