Into the Wild

Well, we didn't eat wild berries, and we didn't hitch-hike our way around, and we didn't sleep on a bus, but we did burn through some cash! Our family adventure to Alaska was actually many moons ago, seven to be exact. It was part of our farewell USA tour. We returned from our Alaska travels only 13 days prior to our move across the ocean. To say the least, finding time to process the thousands of photos resulting from this adventure has been a challenge during this time of transition.

Our two-week adventure began with a week-long cruise aboard Holland America Line's mS Volendam calling at Vancouver B.C., Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, College Fjord, Glacier Bay and Seward. We followed the seven-night sailing by a week exploring the Kenai Peninsula by car visiting Seward, Homer, Girdwood and Anchorage. Alaska is nature's beauty in the most extreme. Everywhere we went, our eyes gazed upon some of the most beautiful sights on earth. It was incredible to behold such natural beauty. The best part was sharing this experience with Scott's dad, step-mom and brother. We will treasure these memories with them forever.

There are a lot of photos here, but actually this represents quite a small fraction, and I had a really difficult time paring this list down for the blog . . .

Stunning pictures, truly. The whole trip must have been a joy to photograph with all that natural beauty! Looks like a really fun cruise, and more. We went on Holland America a couple years ago and thought it was really nice. We were also the youngest people on the boat, but we figure we fit in better there than on a party boat!
