Switzerland and Liechtenstein

Madeleine has been tearing it up on the cross country course the last couple of seasons.  When she made the varsity ISST's team to Switzerland this year I wanted to go cheer her on.  I decided to take Dallin with me and make a fun weekend out of it.  We had a great time visiting Lucerne, Zurich and even made it to Liechtenstein.  Such a fun weekend with my big kids!

First afternoon visiting charming Lucerne.

Last time I was here was over 20 years ago before I even met this kid's dad!

Go Madeleine!

A day in Liechtenstein, Vaduz Castle

Liechtenstein is such small country you don't notice crossing a border, and the capital Vaduz is more like a small village!

Perfect weekend capped off by delicious Swiss fondue in Zurich!

Out with Friends and Family

Despite how frenetic life has been November started off with a bit of fun.  I was grateful for friends who set aside some time to spend time together and for Scott and friends who set aside time to celebrate my birthday with me.  A lot of poor quality phone photos to capture some lovely times.

A nice morning in Kew gardens with a couple of lovely friends.  A rare treat to escape work and life!

Birthday flowers from a lovely friend.

Scott ditched a day in the office to spend my birthday with me.  He took me to a wonderful special exhibition of impressionists in Britain at the Tate.  Then we wandered around Westminster with hot chocolate.  Later we met Becca and Chris for lunch in the City.  That evening Scott and the kids took me to a favourite restaurant for dinner on the high street.  Great birthday!

October Festivities

October was a busy month, though we for the first time ever did not go anywhere for the October half-term break.  It was strange, but good for all of us.  I didn't do a very good job capturing a lot of things this month, got lazy using my phone to take photos, or other people's phones, so many of the photos here are rather poor, but better than no photos at all!

Trevon gets glasses.  So it turns out his complaints about not seeing well were totally legit.

Apart from doctor appointments etcetera we didn't much leave the house during half-term break in October.  But I did take Trevon for a fun day out on the town to see Aladdin and eat our way through Soho.

On the last day of the break, we carved pumpkins!  I was surprised that all three kids were keen to get in on the pumpkin carving action.  One of (if not *the*) the last times I'm sure, so had to make sure I captured it.

Some phone snaps of the school's annual Halloween trunk or treat party, and the only photos I have of Halloween.  Trevon had a blast at this party, and I had fun helping a friend decorate and run a trunk booth.  Trevon had a great Halloween trick or treating with his best neighbour, Lottie, but no photos.

First Day of School 2017

The first day of school this year came with some pretty significant milestones.  For Dallin it was his last first day of school.  Ever. Can hardly believe I'm typing that.  Where on earth did 12+ years go?  Cannot believe he's a senior.  Madeleine began high school, which is a little hard for this mama to handle.  And Trevon started middle school.  Where are all my babies?!?
