Eight Ashtons Trip Part II: Belgium
After four days in Paris we spent three days in Belgium. We took the train to Brussles first, stashed our bags in the station lockers and spent a few hours enjoying the magnificent Grand Place and a giggle at the Manneken Pis. Of course no stop to any Belgian city would be complete without a good Belgian waffle! After lunch we hopped back on a train onto Bruges. Here we spent our time eating hot frites, taste testing chocolates at the town's many chocolate shops and wandering the canals. We also climbed the town's belfry for a grand view and Scott and his dad spent a memorable day in Flanders Fields touring all the old WWI sights.

Eight Ashtons Trip Part I: Paris
After a week hanging out in London we took a 10-day trip together with Scott's dad and family over, or should I say under, the English Channel. We visited Paris, Belgium and The Netherlands. Paris was mostly about pastries and crepes, but we did do a fair number of other things. Some of you may know that I did a study abroad program in France years ago. Paris is also where my dad served most of his mission. So no matter how many times I visit her, Paris always has a special place in the European travel catalogue.
