Christmas 2015 with Grandma & Grandpa Monroe

For a long time I've really wanted to share Christmas in London with my parents, the ultimate Christmas patrons.  Anyone who knows them, even before crossing the threshold of their front door, knows they are the supreme lovers of all things Christmas.  Few places do Christmas as well as London.  It really is such a special place at Christmas, and we wanted to share that with them.  Their trip began sluggishly with a massively delayed flight and further delayed luggage, but they were good sports about it.  Delayed luggage was eventually restored, and we carried on to enjoy a lovely Christmas together with them at home in London.

Royal Albert Hall knocks my socks off every time I visit

Could there be a more stunning venue to celebrate the music of Christmas?

At home preparing for Christmas, making grandma's famous chocolate chip cookies of course!

Let the games begin . . .

My favourite moment of the morning, when my dad jumped up acting out Trevon's animated Christmas morning reactions.  It was pretty cute!

The table is set for a festive Christmas day turkey feast!

Playing games

A fun three-generation girls outing into the city centre to enjoy afternoon tea and the ballet

An indulgent Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed tea at One Aldwych

Covent Garden

I had so much fun watching my mom and my daughter shopping the market stalls at Covent Garden

18th Anniversary

This year we planned in advance to make sure we set aside time to mark our wedding anniversary, which so close to Christmas always feels rushed.  We also had to plan in advance to get a reservation at the highly sought after Hutong restaurant up the Shard.  It was a spectacular setting to celebrate 18 years.  We had an amazing meal, and then enjoyed a leisurely afternoon exploring all the London lights at Christmastime.  Such a wonderful afternoon with my favourite person in my favourite city!

Dallin's 16th

The big guy turned 16!  Hard to believe we have a 16 year-old in the house.  Wasn't I just 16?  We celebrated with cake and dinner, and with one highly anticipated present, a new MacBook Pro Dallin's been eyeing for a while, part birthday gift, part school requirement.  It was nothing short of thrilling to watch him open it, every moment was so fun to watch!
